My Man

Happy B-Day Lover!

Dal turned 23 last month, and we had a really fun time celebrating it. I made him one of his favorite meals for dinner and we finished the puzzle we were working on all Christmas break. Might sound boring to most, but we love doing puzzles together.

For his B-Day I decorated his room with some of the reasons that I love him, and thanks to my new Cricut, I was able to cut out some cute decorations.

Since it was a day to celebrate Dal, I thought I would share a little info about my wonderful hubby! One thing for sure is that he always makes me laugh and I love him very much for that. Another thing I love about him is that he has a few "loves/passions" in his life that make him very unique and help make who he is. It's so cute how passionate and OCD he gets about things.

One of his passions is to chop wood and build fires...He absolutely loves it, and is very precise about it.
Here are a few pictures from a camping trip we went on with my family last year to show you what I mean.
Notice the intricate piles of wood, placed in size order.
He cares very deeply about how perfect his fires are.
It's quite comical. My family got a good kick out of this.

Another thing he is passionate about is Mountain Dew, (which I am not very fond of.) But for Christmas I bought him some Mtn. Dew pajama pants, very suitable for his love.,
and now he never wants to take them off.

If you know Dal you know that he is obsessed with sports! Let's just say that our t.v. doesn't know any other channel than ESPN... So for me to be able to spend time with him or have conversations with him, I had to learn to love sports too. Which might be surprising to most, but I am really happy that I get to share that passion with Dal. For Christmas and his B-Day I got him a Phillies shirt, and Duke basketball shorts, which are his 2 favorite teams, and look how cute he is in his new get up!

Dal is really passionate about his nursing career and loves his job at the hospital. He is a really good nurse and is working so hard through his nursing program and I am really proud of him.
Here is a picture of his first day of nursing school this year. Isn't he so handsome!?
These are just a few of Dallin's passions/characteristics that make him who he is. And I love all those things about him and more! Happy B-Day Dal and I can't wait to celebrate 100's more with you! Love you!

1st year pictures

Dallin and I had some 1st year pictures taken by my sister in law Becca. She did/does such a great job, and we are really grateful she endeavored the cold outdoors to take lots of pics of us :) We love them, and love how they capture our silliness too, thank you so much Becca!

We had a lot of fun taking them!

 My hamsome man :)

Woot Woot!!

He thought that the straw made him look "hick" or "country". I just laughed and let him do it,
and it turned out to be one of my favorite pictures of us!

These pictures were taken at the end when Dal was losing his patience, and I was trying to get him to be good and do what Becca wanted us to do. They turned out really cute and playful and I am glad she captured these for us.
We were laughing so hard. It was a really fun day.

This picture kinda depicts our relationship; Dal always goofing off and
acting like a little kid and me trying to get him to be good. .....which never works, and I'm glad it doesn't because I love who he is!

Thanks Becca! We love our 1st year pictures :)

So I am completely behind on my blogging, I have been really overwhelmed at work and at home, Dal and I have been really sick for the past little while, but are happy to say we are on the mend. I still have my headaches everyday, but after 3 months of straight headaches, i guess you could say you get used to it! But I am happy to report that Dallin's stomach is feeling much better, a for sure relief for us. This semester has been a lot better for him, not as long of days, and not as much studying. However, he leaves the house apx. 4-5 days a week at like 4 am, pretty rough, but he says it is better than studying all day and all night. and it is better for me, because it means he gets to be home for dinner. Last semester I ate by myself too many times, quite lonely that's for sure. This semester for me has been a lot busier though, work is quite overwhelming and has many long days and late nights for a secretary job. I love my job though and am grateful to have one. For fun, I am taking an institute class and an aerobics class once a week.
Oh and by the way, Dallin and I have been married for 1 year and almost 7 months! Pretty exciting.
We had the best 1st Anniversary Ever!
Steps to an amazing anniversary:

Step 1: Set up a romantic candlelit picnic on the floor in your apt.
Include a rose petal trail to lead hubby to the picnic.

Step 2: You need a handsome man to enjoy the picnic with.

Step 3: My favorite flowers given to me by my lover.
Beautiful aren't they. They make for a great decoration.

Step 4: A yummy dinner to share.

Step 5: A romantic getaway to.... VEGAS!!!

We stayed in the Excalibur, I felt like a Princess in this huge castle.

Weather in Vegas during the summer months...Extremely hot and humid. Hence, the awful hair and shiny faces. Dal and i love the heat though, so we were in heaven there!

We followed tradition and ate the remaining part of our wedding cake while we were in Vegas, lets just say, it tastes a heck of a lot better on your wedding night.
We had so much fun on our trip. We went and visited the dolphin and lion habitat, which was incredible. We got to be so close to the dolphins. They are so playful and fun to watch. The trainers showed us some sweet tricks with the dolphins, I'm hoping that some day I can do that day trainer thing, that would be incredible.

The lions were so big and pretty.
and did I mention a little scary! Look at that face.
 Awesome plant lion.
A lion massage.

This lion started pacing the fence and staring at us, hum, I wonder what he was thinking.....

The lions were all so beautiful and really fun to watch. Speaking of Lions, did I mention Dal surprised me with tickets to the broadway The Lion King!?! It has been a dream of mine for a really long time to go see this. What a sweetheart huh. I couldn't believe it, the show was unbelievable and amazing, words cannot explain how incredible it was.... I highly recommend this broadway show to everyone.

Sadly we could only take pictures before the show started. So here is the backdrop that we got to stare at before the show began.

So with all of those steps combined it makes for one incredible anniversary! We loved every bit of it. And we cannot wait for many, many more to come!
