Closing Time

So a classic moment happened today just as I was closing up at work. I close up work at 5:00pm and today at 4:57 the song "Closing Time" came on the radio, haha! Classic! I couldn't help but giggle and sang it aloud as I turned off the lights and closed up work. It was a good flashback to my days working at Snow College Library and closing work to "Closing Time." I vote President Obama should make a law that this song will be played in all businesses/ stores/ etc when they close up, who's with me?!

I know who I want to take me home!! haha ...except he is already at home waiting for me :)

Weekly Update

I week ago from Friday, the 8th, Dal and I went to Mesquite, (which is only about 25 minutes away), to watch a free comedy show at the Casablanca! They have free comedy night every Friday night and we thought we should check it out. It was actually pretty good, we had a great time and it made for some fun laughs! We would love for anyone to come join us for it next time.

On Saturday, the 9th, we went hiking here on Dixie cliffs and had a great time with that. We love hiking!! That's a major plus to living in St. George, we are surrounded by tons of beautiful places to hike and we are loving exploring all the beautiful red mountains here.

On Tuesday, the 12th, we had a movie date night! We went to the movies and saw Snow White and The Huntsman, and we absolutely loved it! It was such a great movie! And such a fun adult take on the Disney movie. We highly recommend for everyone to go see it, or rent it when it comes out. Not really a kids movie though, the Evil Queen is kinda creepy. Afterwards we had a coupon to get ice cream at this place called Golden Spoon, we have never been to it before, but there was a phone # and address on the coupon so we keyed it in to our GPS and to our surprise, or disappointment, when we got to the location this Golden Spoon was no where in existence!! It was the strangest thing, so I called the # on the coupon, and it was disconnected. Who prints and hands out coupons for ice cream to a place that does not exist, we tried looking it up in the phone book and to our dismay, still wasn't in there. What a strange and disappointing thing! So we thought well, Sonic has shakes 1/2 off after 8pm, that's like a coupon, if we share a small shake that only makes the shake $1. And Sonic has delicious shakes! So we drove 3 blocks to the nearest Sonic and to our disappointment again, it was under construction and was being changed to a different restaurant, what?! 2 tries and still no ice cream, if you know me, I really get my heart set on something and I won't stop til I have it. And sadly, my heart deeply wanted ice cream, you think we would have just given up, but no we tried again. And finally, after 40 minutes of failures for the first 2 places, we just settled for an Arby's shake, don't get me wrong, Arby's has pretty good shakes, but Sonic's are way better, yes, we could have drove 10 minutes to the next Sonic, but after already wasting, but also laughing all through the last 40 minutes of ice cream search we just wanted to grab the nearest thing to suffice our now desperately needed ice cream craving. So thank you Arby's for being in existence, open and not under construction so that we could enjoy a yummy chocolate shake!!

On Wednesday, the 13th, we attended the Temple to do Initiatory's. The Temple always makes for the best way to spend time with your spouse! And we are so very grateful that we live so close to a Temple so that we can do so.

Also on Wednesday we got a new niece, Berklee Lila Jones! Kellen and Desirae's 3rd child. Photo: Word on the street is my niece looks like me. What do you think???

She is so beautiful and we can't wait to meet her! We will see her in a few weeks at her baby blessing and are very excited for that event!

And for this past weekend, my sister, Rachel came to spend the weekend with me and Dal! It was so fun to have her here and get to spend time with her. We spent lots of time exercising, laying out at the pool, I took her to get her 1st pedicure and we just bummed and talked lots! It was great to have her here, love ya sis! Come back and visit soon

Being a Lady

So I really enjoy my job working as a receptionist at a chiropractic office. It makes for some really good laughs some days. However, there are some bad days and down falls to working at any medical office. Such as, patients complaining a little too much, and patients getting upset about copays, deductibles, etc. It's funny how patients take it out on me like I am the bad guy because I have to collect their money, but I always am extremely nice to them and it calms them down, and I always feel bad about high deductibles, etc. I wish I could give an informative class on insurance to people, I just feel bad because most people do not understand their insurance policies, which can sometimes result in them purchasing not the best plans, etc. Strangely enough, I actually really enjoy telling people about insurance and calling on benefits for the patients and then explaining it to them in a simplified way.

Anyways, enough of insurance ramble! I love observing people, so I enjoy being a receptionist because it lets me observe people! We people are quite a peculiar race. We do some funny, strange things and say some funny things. There are so many wonderful people that I have been able to meet with my job and there is one lady in particular that always gives me a good giggle and keeps me smiling!

She is an elderly woman, in her late 80's and she is, not quite sure how to word this, but she is losing her marbles as said in the movie Hook. She comes every week for an adjustment and every time she comes she tells me that I don't dress correctly, and that I do not dress like a lady. I always smile and kindly ask her how a lady should dress and how I can be more of a lady.

For all of you wondering, this is how a lady should dress....

Queen Elizabeth

This sweet elderly woman tells me that girls these days do not know how to dress like ladies, which I mostly agree! However, I also feel that if I showed up to work or went to dinner with Dal in a outfit like this, I don't think it would be accepted, unless if I were the Queen.

So a thank you to Queen Elizabeth for dressing and acting like a lady!
Does anyone know where I can buy outfits like this?? haha

I would love to spend a day in this sweet patients' shoes to be able to see her perspective on life, I am sure it would make for a wonderful day!

Good news though, I wore a pencil skirt with a blouse when she came in for her appt. this past week, and guess what?! It worked, she complimented me and told me that I was starting to look like a lady more and more every week!! haha I couldn't wait to come home and tell Dal the good news!

(To clarify, I dress very professionally at work every week, and dress just as a normal "business woman/receptionist" would dress with skirts, dress pants, blouses, heels, etc. Don't want to make anyone think I am dressing sloppy to work or anything to make her say these things to me, haha.)

P.S.  I got a raise last week at work!!! :) So even though I do not dress like "a lady," I am doing a good job at my job!

Make-Over!

I got a make-over, well a hair make-over!
Last Wednesday I decided to be really gutsy and cut off all my hair!!
It's quite a change, but I love my new hair style!

Before
After
(haha I was trying to be all cool in this picture)

What do you think?! I feel like a whole new woman!
Glad Dal helped convince me and give me the confidence to cut it this short, not to mention it saves me a lot of time in the bathroom getting ready in the morning, so that's always a plus!

So I have a funny story with all of this, part of the reason Dal helped convince me to cut my hair was because he would sing this little song to me when we were lying in bed every night. He got it from a commercial on ESPN Radio that he listens to EVERY morning! It's a commercial for some insurance to help you save money, I'll try to portray it as best I can. Here's the scoop, the hubby in the commercial is singing and talking to his wife while he cuts her hair, all during the wife being asleep.
 Que Commercial:
While the wife is asleep the hubby cuts her hair and sings to her a little lullaby. The hubby's lullaby goes like this... Singing, "Go to sleep, go to sleep, you are alllmost gorgeous!" Speaking to himself, "Oh, she's gonna love this!!"
(haha call us sometime and we will have Dal sing it for you! It's so darn funny!!)

So anyways, while we were lying in bed for the past month, and right after my eyes are closed, Dal would start to sing this lullaby to me and pretend to snip my hair. Gave me many a nightmare, that's for sure!! haha So I finally decided I better go get my hair professionally cut before he actually did it himself!

A weekend full of friends and family

This past weekend we went to Sanpete County to show our support for our friends Sean and Sallie on their wedding day. It was a long, fun day that started out with a beautiful temple sealing. I love attending wedding sealings, it reminds me of the wonderful covenants Dal and I made almost 3 years ago! We had an hour to spare until the luncheon so we went to the Manti pool, sadly not to swim, but to visit some family that was swimming there. Small world, but Jake and his family and Devin and his family were there at the same time swimming, so it was nice to see them for a little bit. We then went to the luncheon in Salina and ended up spending the rest of the day there. We had such a great time catching up and spending the entire day with all of Dallin's Gunnison friends and their spouses. We hope we can get together with them again soon!

Some things I missed...

 Easter Bliss!
We spent Easter Sunday with my family in Milford. Our family Eggsolutely loves decorating Easter Eggs! We always compete to see who has the best decorated eggs, this year we had some pretty awesome accessories to add to them.
Caution!! Neck may cramp from turning sideways to look at pictures! haha the pictures were taken on my phone and I couldn't get them to turn. To avoid neck kinking, turn computer sideways and enjoy. haha

My chick, isn't he the cutest egg you have ever seen?! I am quite proud of him :)
Jess's exercise bunny.
 Rach's Lola, the ShowGirl.
 My Minion!
 My pink bunny.
Dallin's eggs, ha wonder what gave that away!?

Here's a fun picture from one of our dates.
We went to the midnight showing of Hunger Games on March 22nd with some of Dallin's cousins. We had a blast, but since it was midnight forgive the make-up less face.

On May 6th, we attended the baby blessing for one of our newest nephews, Tayton Ball. He is Dallin's brother, Devin and his wife Sarah's 3rd child and 3rd boy.

Here we are holding him in the outfit we gave him, isn't he so cute?!

More date nights!
Dal and I go on a date night at least 1-2 times a week and we absolutely love the time we get to spend together and feel very blessed that we do have the time to spend alone together!
We have watched some really good movies lately, The Hunger Games, The Avengers, just to name a few. For our date night on May 25th, we went to our new favorite restaurant, Red Robin, every time we go I sing, Reeeedd Robin, YUMMM!! After we enjoyed our yummy meal we rented 'The Vow' from Red Box, and had some cuddle time watching it. Dal of course didn't enjoy that movie so much, he hates love/chick flicks. But he watched it for me, which I loved.
Thanks for all the date nights, love you baby!
