What a Wonderful Day

So yesterday I enjoyed a wonderful Friday full of pampering myself and relaxing!
I love Fridays because I only work until 1pm and then I have the rest of the afternoon to spend doing anything I please to do until Dal gets home from work at 6pm. Most of them are spent catching up on the week's cleaning tasks. But not yesterday, I decided that I should spend it doing relaxing, fun filled things that I enjoy, so I did. First of all, back up a slight bit, this week I received 2 tips at work, one lady gave me $13 and another gave me a certificate for a pedicure, who would have thought that I would get tips working at a front desk in a medical office, but hey, anything is possible I guess!

Now back to Friday, so I got off work at 1pm, and one of the chiropractors at my office gave me an adjustment, so that started off my relaxation. I decided to go to the salon and use the free pedicure certificate I had received. I absolutely love pedicures, very relaxing and pampering! Then I went to the pool at our townhouse and laid out at the pool for a few hours, soaked in some sun and read a good book. I chose to read "The Lucky One," by Nicholas Sparks, I want to read it before the movie premiere on April 20th. Anyways, it was the most relaxing/pampering day for myself! Then my honey came home, we made dinner together, then went and got a shake to share together. Days like this don't happen very often, so I thought it should be shared on my blog. What a wonderful day!

Our move to St. George!

So of course I am behind and forgot to post about our move, it was quite the experience and I want to remember it, so I am posting about it. As soon as Dallin got hired in St. George I was so excited I couldn't contain myself, so I started packing, even before we found a place to move into. We came down one Saturday and looked at like 10 apartments/town houses, some were great, some were over priced, and some had mold! Yes, that's correct, MOLD! Who shows you an apt with mold all over it?! I couldn't believe my eyes or my nose, it was disgusting. Anyways, we went to lunch at Durango's (our favorite Mexican food place in St. George) and we talked over the apartments we just saw and after much debate over the places we just looked at, (ok, so there was no debate at all, we knew we were won over by the first place we looked at) so we called up the landlord, finished our meal, signed the contract and paid our deposit.  All the apartment searching was finished, we found the perfect place! Hooray!

I was so excited for the move and couldn't help myself. Me, being me, (a little too over-prepared/over-excited sometimes) I already had over half of our apartment in Ephraim packed up within one week of renting our place in St. George! So every time Dallin drove down for work in St. George that month, I filled the car up with our boxes and stuff and he loaded it into our new place. Which left me back in Ephraim, with 2 weeks til the move, by myself, with one plate, one cup, one pot, one utensil, the microwave, the tv, the bed, and a couch. It was quite hard living on nothing, but I was so excited that I packed everything up so quick, I kinda forgot I still had to live in Ephraim for a few more weeks! We hauled most of our furniture down the Saturday before the final move and then we loaded a trailer full of the rest on moving day. We are quite grateful we got to do our move like this though, because it made moving day less stressful, well, not as much as I would have liked. (I'll fill you in about that shortly...)
Some pictures of moving/ boxes.

Moving day was the worst day ever! Ill explain soon...

Christmas in March?!

haha ok so everyone can just ignore how late this post is... but i forgot, repeat, forgot to post about December and January, somehow i missed those months... weird! So as I was going through all of my pics today and realizing that I really want them on my blog no matter how late they are posted... I just decided that it's better late than never! Someday I'll get the hang of this blogging thing, right?!

December this year was all about the crafts and decorations! Can you blame me? All I could do after my Chiari surgery, (November 29th) was lay around for a month, so what better way to spend my time than to craft. I made a tree skirt and ornaments, a wreath, and a frame. I already posted pics about the wreath and frame, but I'll share them briefly again to remind you.

I found this tutorial on Pinterest for making a ruffled tree skirt, I really liked it except it was all in one color, cream, and I felt that it was missing the Christmas spirit so I found 2 very cutely patterned materials in the Christmas colors, red and green that I thought I would pattern with the cream to make it more festive! Making the tree skirt was a lot of fun and quite therapeutic actually. My mom came and helped me cut all of the strips for the skirt, and as you can see, the entire skirt was strips of material, so thanks mom for the BIG help! Then whenever I could conjure up some energy (remember this was made 1-2 weeks after my big surgery), I hot glued and ruffled all of the strips in place.

It was quite the project, if I wasn't recovering from a surgery it would have probably only taken me 2 Sunday afternoons to complete, but I could only hack at it a little at a time each day, so after about 1 1/2 weeks of gluing and ruffling it was complete. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the final product! It also has a lot of sentimental value now because of the whole surgery thing. Maybe it's just me, but I think it's absolutely adorable! And I'll totally make another one if someone wants?!
Isn't it beautiful under my tree! My tree was my pride and joy this year, Dal picked out the perfect tree when we went tree hunting and I love how the decorations turned out, all the way from Dal's mountain dew star on top to my tree skirt on bottom!
Some pictures of the lights we put up on our apartment.

Christmas and Christmas Eve we spent in Milford with my family.
On Christmas Eve we opened our family drawing gifts.

 Nice Dad, nice! haha
Dal drew my moms name, we made her a jewelry holder.
I drew Jake's name, I gave him an electric sander.

Becca drew Dal's name, she gave him nursing scrubs and Harry Potter 7.
My mom drew my name and she gave me these cute brown boots that I am modeling!

 Dal modeling his new scrubs.

 Christmas Morning:

Poor Dal, basically all he got for Christmas was like 6 pairs of Nursing scrubs. But he was happy with that.

Going to church. I really like this picture of us,
except for the fact that I still look really sick, like I just had surgery, haha.

Merry Christmas 2011

This year we spent December 23rd-25th with my family in Milford and then spent the 26th with Dallin's family in Gunnison. It was all around a wonderful Christmas break spent with family and lots of fun times!

St. George

Well, we are alive and well and loving St. George! Dal is working hard and enjoying his job at the Care and Rehab Center.

An exciting update:

I enjoyed 2 weeks off of work getting the house somewhat situated and luckily I had 2 job interviews last week and got offered both of them, so I got to choose which job I wanted. Pretty exciting and lucky! So on Monday I started my new job. I am the receptionist at StoneRidge Chiropractic, its a full time job, I will work from 9-5 Mon-Thurs and 9-12 on Fridays. I have only been working there for 2 days, but I am really enjoying my job so far. I work for 3 chiropractors and so it is the 4 of us working there. We feel really blessed that I was able to find a great job so soon.

A few things we love about St. George and our new townhouse:

We completely LOVE that our townhouse has a hot tub and pool at the club house and we have been using the hot tub about 3-4 nights a week, what a wonderful relaxing way to end our days just before going to bed!

I love that our club house has a fitness center, so now I have to force myself to use it. I haven't been able to exercise for about 5 months now because of my surgery, so lets just say its been awhile. Even though I am still struggling with my headaches I need to exercise so that the rest of me can feel good. So since we have moved here I have been using the fitness center and its been great. I ran 2 miles last Friday! It's nice because the elliptical and the treadmill both face a t.v., so I just put on the Today show and get my work out on, goodbye chubby surgery body, hello (several months and workouts from now) summer swimsuit ready body!!

We love that there are so many options of food places to eat at for date night with Gluten-Free menus! Also, that there are several grocery stores here that sale Gluten-Free food!! HOORAY!

We love our townhouse! As soon as I finish decorating, or find the time to decorate, I will post pictures of our place.

Also, not to mention, we Love the weather here, yesterday was 77* Yay for warm weather!

We feel really blessed and are loving living here. We have a really good ward and a really good neighborhood. Now we just need to make some friends... hum, that would require us to go out and meet our neighbors which neither of us really like to do besides the casual "Hi's" as you pass them.
I really miss my friends in Ephraim!! We are hoping to come back to Ephraim and visit soon.

As for now, we are still settling into our home, enjoying our jobs, getting used to our new schedules/situations, and prepping for March Madness! Dal is counting down the days. Post more soon, with pictures, man I'm so behind.
